One of the most “funnest” couples this year – Jen & Jesse – got married at the Korean Martyr’s Catholic Church back in September of last year. Did you read about how they met in their engagement session post here? => “A Match Made in OfficeMax

Jesse worked for Xerox during their engagement, and the major plus — they got to use their equipment to make their Save-The-Date magnets and invitations!

They got ready at the Four Points Sheraton by Ohare, which is also where they had their reception after the ceremony. More on that in part II. In the meantime, enjoy!!

As Jen was stepping out of the limo, my attention was completed focused on her, until someone whispered to me to see her dad watching her from inside the church. I quickly turned and zoomed into find him. What a moment. :)

You would think, that if a photographer were to travel, that she would take all her gear with her, and shoot the most professional, gorgeous travel pictures.

Not me.

I will travel with my iphone if I can help it, mainly because I spend so much time with my professional gear, that when not at work, I try to challenge myself with “consumer” gear. After all, it’s the person behind the camera, NOT the camera. Right? :P

The truth is, my images aren’t the ones that are the most technically perfect. My favorite images – whether my own or my clients’ – are the ones with heart. The ones with meaning. The ones that remind me of someone, or a moment, or something important/funny/happy. So here are my favorites from the last few weeks:
(note: all pics are unedited. all but one are taken on my Iphone)

Boredom on the plane (a PAINFUL 12 hour ride – and that’s just form LA to Korea) leads to: a paper pig!! TADAAA!!!

I got my hair permed for the FIRST time while in Malaysia! That was BEFORE I found out what girls had to go through for this “little” beauty regimen.
# of hair washes: 5x
Cling wrapped hair: 2x
Having a machine hovering over my head: 3x
Aluminium foil wrapped hair:1x
Time spent: 5 hours
Curly hair: priceless :)

Favorite pics of my mom and dad :)

And a little surprise — we went back to Paul’s dad’s house, to collect some old stuff, and found this little gem! A 1979 Nikon vintage FM3 model SLR body! I immediately put it work, and can’t wait to see the results!

This is a follow up from my Madison wedding 2 weeks ago, and today, I’m posting pics of the reception. It was loads of fun, with the awesom-est speeches. It was totally distracting to have to listen to such awesomely funny speeches while shooting!

Let it be known that a Minnesota Viking just married a Green Bay Packer. ;)

Oh yeah..If you follow me or my blog, you’ll know that I often reference my own wedding when it comes to why I photograph weddings today. So I thought, it’s time to perhaps show you pictures from my wedding – photos that really, changed my perspective about life – and about the importance of family and friends, near and far, no matter how infrequently I see them. At the end of the day, I discovered that the wedding is less about Paul and I, and more about seeing and spending time with your closest friends and family.

I got married in December 2007. That’s quite some time ago. But till this day, I still get butterflies when I see the slideshows, especially at the start, seeing my dad doing prayers at dawn in my old home the morning of the wedding. *sniff* I miss my dad. :(

This is the first of 6 slideshows that I got from my photographer for my 2-day wedding celebration. I’ll show you the first for now. We’ll leave the rest for another post. :)
